I just bought the Sega Genesis collection for the PS2 and have to admit it's a great compilation BUT I cannot access the two player co-op on Golden Axe 1. I can do it on the second and third, but not the first. Anybody else have this problem and know how to deal with it?

i just bought the playstaion 2 game system for my wife's41st day.1 of the games is:sega genesis collection,which has ecco the dolphin-ecco tides fo time-ecco jr. she is playing ecco tides of time,but game manual does not say how to play the game.she needs to know how to move the crystals-she can't ram them-ecco/sing moves them but how to knock them down to move around? she search online for hours got nowheres.thanks to anyone who knows what she needs to do,and a huge appreciation,if anyone knows where to sownlaod the game manual for playstation 2.she's disabled,and i am trying to keep her hands mobile as long as possible,this game series reminded her of years ago.quite a surprise finding it again !.she says to thank all who can help her out :) email;bingo1575@verizon.net is hers......
hi-maddmatt-she sonared it,it wiggled,jiggled,not moved or dropped though.in the 1st game series,ecco the dolphin,she only had to touch or sonar it...this here is much different,ecco the tides of time,from sega genesis collection playstation2 system.theres 4 of them in the 1st part you go to.1 dolphin,who says;follow me i see something strange depp below'....she sonar it again from another direction,but the crystals,non of them,will bugdge for her.please,explain again,a bit more detailed for her.non of us are 'gamers'-still really green around the edges!hahaha..thanks for your patience & time! waiting to hear from you again :)

I'm expanding my collection of Sega Genesis games, and I'd like some input on what I should get next. Here's my list of games:
Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D Blast, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, World of Illusion, Mickey Mania, Buster's Hidden Treasure, Aero the Acro Bat, James Pond: Underwater Agent, the Lion King, Cool Spot, Road Rash, Quackshot, Ecco, Ecco 2, Lost Vikings, Castle of Illusion.

While video game technology continues to grow, it's important to remember our roots - and this collection of 4th generation Genesis games is a great way to relive that past glory.
The following are included in this compilation:
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle - This is a cute game in a Mario-like setting. The gameplay has intermissions of Janken (Rock, Paper, Scissors).
Altered Beast - In this side scroller fighting game, you take the role of a centurion brought back from the dead, with mystical powers at your disposal.
Bonanza Bros. Similar to the Atari 2600 game Keystone Kapers; you take control of one of the Bonanza Brothers. Your goal is to steal items from various houses without getting caught.
Columns - Akin to games like Tetris, this puzzle game is designed to match up gems vertically, diagonally, or horizontally.
Comix Zone -You are Sketch Turner, a comic book artist who has to fight his way out of a comic strip he created.
Decap Attack - This has similar gameplay to Sonic the Hedgehog, except you play as a decapitated mummy called Chuck D. Head.
Ecco the Dolphin / Ecco: The Tides of Time / Ecco Jr. - This is a side-scroller trilogy where you get to control a dolphin named Ecco to rescue members of his pod, travel through space & time, or relive your roots as a young dolphin.
Flicky - It's your duty as Flicky the bird to rescue lost chicks from housecats and a mischievous iguana.
Gain Ground - An interesting game where you choose from 3 characters with different weapons & abilities...the goal for each stage? Kill or be killed.
Golden Axe / Golden Axe II / Golden Axe III -This side-scrolling, hack `n' slash trilogy pits the characters of an elf, a barbarian, or an Amazon against the murderous Death Adder, the Dark Guild, and various other enemies with swords and sorcery.
Kid Chameleon - Similar to the plot of TRON, it's up to you to defeat every level of a video game nightmare with masks to power up your character in unique ways.
Phantasy Star II / Phantasy Star III / Phantasy Star IV - This is an epic role-playing game series. You can play Algol Star System, or play part III with multiple endings, or store attack sequences in part IV.
Ristar - The game that inspired Sonic the Hedgehog, your character is in a side scroller setting, using stretching arms & hands to move and combat foes.
Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi - A platform game with a dog as your sidekick and ninjitsu as your weapons.
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master - Advanced ninjitsu, new enemies, and varied gameplay make Shinobi III an excellent entry in this collection.
Sonic The Hedgehog / Sonic The Hedgehog 2- The series debut of that ring collecting Hedgehog, starring Dr. Robotnik, and his sidekick Tails!
Super Thunder Blade - A helicopter attack game with missiles, guns, and more enemies than you know what to do with!
Sword of Vermilion - An RPG with different views and menus to spice up the gameplay.
Vectorman / Vectorman 2 - This side scrolling game series allows you to control an Orbot to restore peace to the planet earth.
Virtua Fighter 2- The game which changed the face of 3D fighting games for all time.

I would say this is a must-have for PSP owners, especially those who like classic video games. This contains 28 games, including Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2, Columns, VectorMan 1 & 2, Virtua Fighter 2, and more.
This collection also allows multi-player via the PSP's wireless networking option. The original (non-widescreen) video of the video games is kept, and there is an option to use the original video size, fit the video on the screen keeping the aspect ratio, or to stretch the video to fit the entire PSP screen (I think a widescreen version would have been nice for some games like Sonic the Hedgehog, but that's no big deal). Also, the menus are good.
This game seems to sell for $19.99 in stores near me that carry it. When you get 28 great games for that price, this collection is an excellent value.

The SEGA Genesis was a hit cosole back in the 90's, and the releasing of this Genesis collection sheds some light on the past of SEGA's past gaming. For some, it is a trip down memory lane while for others, it is an exciting taste of gaming from the 90's. This collection was fun yet dissapointing. The including of several classic hits was the main enjoyment. The bad was the leaving out of several other classics. Streets of Rage, Toe Jam and Earl, Gunstar Heroes, etc. were all left out from what could've been a great compilation of SEGA Genesis games. Luckily, I got this game at K Mart for $15. Although this product may have dissapointed fans, it is forgiven for including SEGA's best. I still would recommend this game and enjoy playing the great games which repay for the absence of many other classic titles.

This is great to have in your collection, especially if you are a genesis fan and you upgraded your firmware and can't use homebrew emulators :( The Sonic, Ecco, Golden Axe, and Phantasy Star series alone make this worth the buy. There are also great games I am discovering for the first time, such as comix zone and gain ground. Hours of fun!
